Parallel Y-Cables
This is the most common type used for passive, non-intrusive measurements. In a parallel configuration, the main signal path remains fully continuous and uninterrupted — it runs straight from the input connector (e.g., female side to the component) through to the output connector (male side to the original harness). With the extra wire connected to the breakoutbox, all wires are connected to the main signal line(s), allowing you to probe and measure without breaking or altering the primary circuit, in a non-intrusive manner.
